A mad brainwashing has been penetrated into Japanese society.

That is propaganda of potassium-40, which is a radioactive isotope of potassium.
As far as I know, the first propaganda was reported by NHK (Japan's government broadcaster) -TV last fall.
The radioactivity of K-40 values and cesium-137 in drinking water and the food were measured with a germanium detector ($about 200,000) for 1 week of some families in Japan and the results were as follows: measured K-40 values from natural resource were higher than those of Cesium 134 or 137 from the Fukushima nuclear plants.
Mysterious values in the case of drinking water were found, for radioactive values of K-40 in some drinking water were totally independent from potassium concentrations which were labeled in bottle.

Almost all K-40 on earth was produced at birth and then gradually decreased with a half-life of 1.2 billion years. The ratio of K-40 vs potassium is 0.012% and the ratio is always constant. Therefore, the radiation activity of K-40 can be calculated by potassium
concentration.

Recently I astonished that a cheap Geiger counter made in Japan can also detect K-40.
Eighty nine% of K-40 first release beta-ray and then became to Argon. Only 11% of decayed Argon release γray. Moreover, Argon is an inert gas,is not intaken into the body. Why can calculate an easy Geiger counter for total radio activity of K-40?

I could not foresee that the ratio of the intensity of the radiation
of Cs137 and potassium 40 are compared on a daily basis, nowadays many people no longer fear the radioactivity as shown in the title.

Japanese academic circle had no reaction for such situation.
Though I am an old pharmacologist, I am thinking to do my best.
Above mentioned sentence is a simple example.
I suppose there is a big gap between Cs137 and K40 in the biological field.

On Japanese politics

1ケ月ほど前約10年振りに書いた易しい英文ですがこのまま捨てるのもと思い載せました。
I am old Japanese experienced in elementary school when the Second World War.
After Fukushima atomic plant accident, I am gradually thinking that the news are becoming similar to the news of the war.
Hence I want to consider about recent Japanese politics.
Who governs Japan?
According to the Constitution of Japan, the premier has to govern Japan.
Is it true?
After Abe, the Liberal Democrat leader, was born as a prime minister in September in 2006, each year new prime ministers (Fukuda and Asou) were born.
Hatoyama premier, belong to wild party, was born in September 2009.
When Hatoyama spoke at the general assembly of the UN, the original manuscript of his speech was not written by bureaucrats. The case may be for the first time as far as I know.
His speech was highly appreciated in many countries.
However 25% carbon dioxide reduction target was not confirmed by the community complex including bureaucrats, businessleaders and media.
Bureaucrats are controlling the media via the press club system.
Japanese media reported false information so as to give damage to the premier. Assistant Secretary of USA, Philip J. Crowley had to explain (see URL)
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2009/dec/133952.htm

Within several months Hatoyama became a puppet.
Last summer Kan became the premier. He is totally depending on the old bureaucrats system and seemed to have no own policy.
Who did a political reform, an economic reform, an agricultural reform and so on?
No premier did one of them.
South Korea is advancing the reform (e.g. trade treaty with EC, application of IT in Government and so on), on the other hand, why every Japanese premier couldn't change any reform?
Japanese politics is traditionally determined by the meeting of Permanent Secretary of each ministry, i.e. each ministry has only nominal authority.
Politics are actually moving by the meeting of Permanent Secretaries.
Nowadays Japanese economy is facing difficult condition due to decreasing of population.
As bureaucrats are becoming to defend their own interests, therefore they are very conservative.
That is the question.
